Faculty of Law

Applications are invited for:
Professors/Associate Professors/Assistant Professors/Assistant Research Professors/Professional Consultants (Ref. 1112/117(014)/2)

The Faculty of Law at CUHK is Hong Kong's newest Law Faculty and is rapidly establishing itself as a major centre of legal education and research in the Asia-Pacific region. As part of its planned expansion, the Faculty invites applications for a range of posts. Appointments are available at all professoriate levels (Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor) and as Assistant Research Professors or Professional Consultants. Candidates for professoriate appointments will be expected to contribute to the Faculty's successful teaching programmes and to the development of its research profile. Applicants for Assistant Research Professors posts should have relevant doctoral degrees and postdoctoral research experience. Applicants interested in appointments as Professional Consultants should have substantial professional experience. Applications for appointment on a full-time or fractional-time basis are welcomed.

Appointments will, normally, be made on a contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointments or substantiations later. (Substantiations are not available for Assistant Research Professors or Professional Consultants).

Applications will be accepted until the Faculty is satisfied that all posts have been appropriately filled. However, early applications (by mid-February 2012) are encouraged.

Further information about the Faculty is available at:

Candidates interested in discussing any of these posts are welcome to contact the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Christopher Gane ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ; 852 3943 7846).
